The Syrian Refugee Crisis

In 2015, more than one million people crossed the Mediterranean sea to look for international protection in Europe. In total, about 1.5 million claimed asylum in OECD countries that year alone. This is almost twice the number recorded in 2014 and the highest number ever.

While all refugees are of equal importance, this visualization focuses on data on Syrian refugees collected by the United Nations and Oxfam over the last four years. It aims to provide you with a clear view of the current situation and challenges you to think about the good that could be done if we all worked together.
